{Colorado day 5}

Today was our last full day here at the resort. We will be leaving early tomorrow morning.  I'm so glad we decided to come we had so much fun.  Today was our trail ride.  I wasn't sure if I was going to go or not but I decided to go last minute and I am so glad I did.

If you were 5 or younger you got to ride a pony.  Paisley and Cody rode ponies.  Darian, Uncle Mike, and my mom let them around.

Before we went on our horses the lady in charge assigned each of us a horse depending on our experience.  My horse was named Dixie and that is a pictures of her backside.  She was a beautiful light brown with a dark mane and tail. When we were waiting in line I mentioned to Lynda that maybe she was my horse not knowing which horse was ours.
Cale was first in line to get his horse.
My cousin Cale has autism and I was nervous to see how he would act on the horse.  He did amazing!  He was calm the entire time it was so cool to see him that way.
Jill loves horses she couldn't wait to do the ride.
Craig told us they went to slow for him.  He's used to going fast.
Go Miles.
Kaidee's horse kept wandering off the trail to eat.  She ended up being in different spots throughout the line it made us laugh.
We learned on the way out that Livee's horse was ready to be a mom.  As we were leaving we had to ride by two male horses.  Livee's horse went right to the pen and didn't want to leave even though Livee was kicking her.  Finally the wrangler came and whacked her on the bottom.  On our way back in that same male horse ran over to the fence as soon as Livee's horse got close but Livee didn't let her get close this time.
Chloe was a natural and loved being in the horse.  She had ridden horses last year at girls camp.
I was nervous at first but once we got going I had fun.  I just wish it could have been longer.
Lynda was two horses behind me.  We had fun laughing and talking about all the other horses.  We were in the back so we could see everyone in front of us.
Here we are all waiting for everyone to get on their horses.  I gave my camera to my mom so she could take the pictures.

There we go!
Later that night after dinner a group went down to the pool.  From our cabins back porch I was able to get these pictures.

After calling them for a long time and no response someone finally whistled and got their attention.  Hello down there.
This was the main cabin that the christian family stayed in.  Our cabin was 4 cabins away.
I can't wait until June 2016.

{Colorado day 4}

Today was the kids turn to go down the river.  They called their run the milk run.  First they had to get their wet suits and life vests on.

After they got dressed they hopped in the bus and went to the river.

They carried their paddles.

Uncle Mike and Jill.
All ready.
Getting their last minute instructions from their guide.

There they go.
They all had a blast.

{Colorado day 3}

Today was a busy fun day.  Beki, Adam, and Bo went on a class 5 rafting trip so Uncle Mike took us along the river to follow them.  A class 5 is the highest rated river with more rapids and a faster speed.  We stopped and waiting at the first stop.  While we were waiting along the river this lady showed up and held up her badge to me and said I need to talk to all of you.  She was a sheriff that was watching someones home and we were sitting on private property.  We moved the kids and away from the river and waited the rafters.

The views here in Colorado are so beautiful.  Livee and Kaidee were standing in front of the river, but you couldn't see it here.
Uncle Mike drove us all around in his little bus.
This was our first waiting stop.  You can see what was left over from the original bridge.  There were so many old things to look at.  It was so interesting.
Cale enjoyed throwing rocks into the river.
Here they come.
High five they made it through the rapids.
Isn't the river beautiful.
Here we were standing on the bridge watching them go by.
On some of the stops we stayed on the bus to watch.

Bo got to ride the bull towards the end of their run and just when he thought it was safe...
 they hit a rapid and...
Bo went down.
Along the river we went through these cool tunnels.  I'm pretty sure I heard these tunnels were originally for a train track but now it is a road.
After that we went back to the resort and took the kids swimming.  This pool had a water slide and a small lazy river. Chloe and Darian.
Neil and Cole.
Bo showing off with Andee.
Kaidee
Aunt Holly and Gracie
Uncle Mike and Kaidee
Heres a picture of the pool and water slide.
After the pool we went ten miles up the road to a ghost town called St. Elmo.  Here you can see old buildings and feed chipmunks.
Cole was so excited as well as all the kids.
You could buy a bag of food for .50.  When you held out your hand they would run up to you.  They were all different sizes.

Neil
Someone put seeds on Uncle Mikes back.
Lynda fed them too.
Soon the kids were laying in all different positions.  Cole liked laying down.
Cody loved the chipmunks.  He kept trying to catch them with his hat.  One time a chipmunk took off with his hat.
A few prairie dogs would come over for food as well.  This one let Cody pet him.
I even fed a few too.  I was nervous that they would bite but they didn't.
After feeding the chipmunks we took a walk around the town.  We found this building first hidden behind some trees and bushes.  I'm not sure why the door is so small except that maybe it sunk down into the ground.
This was inside the school house.

We even saw a deer.
The courthouse/jail.
This was the general store and the family that ran it lived in the house on the left.
This was an old wagon that they used in the snow.
An old house.
Jill standing in front of one of the old homes.

Ryanna, Lynda, and I.
Another old building.
On the side of the building they made a wall of license plates.

The old school house.
This was what was left over from an old house that had burned down.  The only thing left was an old stove and a few other metal things.  I can't wait to visit this town again.
