{My Blog is 1}

This past year has been so fun. I just wish that I would have started this blog thing a while ago I always think of everything that I missed. from when my older kids were younger. Blogging has allowed me to meet some wonderful people that I never would have met if I didn't have this blog. I feel like this has not only blessed me but my family too. I have found new recipes that they love, new ways to organize, and new crafts to make. It also allows me to have a little grown up time which I crave.

I am so thankful for all of you that read my blog it really means a lot that you take the time out of your daily schedule to take a peek into my life. I love reading all of your comments and ideas that you leave for me too.

I am looking forward to a whole new year that will allow me to meet more people and learn more things. If you ever have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to find the answer or at least try to explain it to you. YLetti

{to comment or not to comment}

This has been on my mind lately and I was wondering what makes bloggers comment on some posts and not on others. As a blogger I get so excited when I see that someone has left a comment it makes my feel like what I am doing is enjoyable to others. I am doing this as sort of a journal for my family and also to keep in touch with family and friends near and far. When I read others blogs I do not comment on every post but I try to comment on as much as I can. If I have nothing in common with a post than I won't comment because I feel like I can't give an honest opinion. I have also made some really good friends because I have commented on their blogs. I did not know these people beforehand and I was able to find their blogs through blog surfing. I also tend to comment on blogs that post more often and not commenting on blogs that post once every few weeks. So what things make you decide to comment or not to comment? Be honest, and don't you like to receive comments on your blog?

Blog List (new)

Have you seen the new thing on blogger? If you go to customize, then , add a new element it right there on the top left Blog List is what it's called. You can now see what time your friends have last posted so no more clicking on every post. It even allows blog stalkers like me to see it on others blogs. I will put a few on the left hand side of my blog so you can see what I'm talking about.

{look to your right}

I found something totally cool on Celia's blog today. It's a 'Top Commenter Widget' which displays the top 10 commenter's on your blog. What a great way to reward your regular commenter!
It's really easy if you use Blogger. Just type in your blog name as per the instructions, press Customize, then press the Add to Blog button.It puts it directly into your layout! Drag it to the position you prefer and press Save. Presto!

I NEED YOUR INPUT!!!!

I was asked to teach about journaling in another wards enrichment night on Thursday and I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to talk about. When the lady called to ask me about teaching I told her that the only journaling I do is blogging. So I hope she understands that is what I will be talking about? My question for you is what are some key points that I should bring up. I will also not be able to bring Darian's lap top because their is no internet connection at church. Should I have any handouts? How do I teach them without having an actual blog in front of me? Please help I can use all of your amazing ideas.

and the winner is....

....well if you want to find out then you have to play. I have been thinking a lot lately about my blog title and I am ready for a new name. A Big Bunch of Byrd's is just too boring for me. My friend Chantri's post got me thinking about changing it and besides I want her to design a header for me so I need a new name. I am going to have a competition and whoever is the winner will get a cool prize in the mail. I will let the contest go until I have a winner. So let your creative juices flow and your imaginations run wild. Good Luck!

The Last and Final I love Post

I love Blogging. It was introduced to me by my cousin Jill last year and ever since I have been addicted. The first thing I do when I wake up every morning is check out my blogs and then I will take a peek at my friends blogs. I have made some very sweet friends through my blog. They have inspired me and given me great advice. Someday I hope to meet them face to face. I love to blog surf and look at other peoples blogs sometimes I will leave a comment to let them know how much I liked their blog. My family is enjoying all of the new recipes I have been getting too. Thanks Chantri and Emily. I love that I can get this published as a journal for my family. I have never been very good at keeping a journal but blogging is something that I can do along with the pictures it is my kind of journal. Blogging has been such a blessing in my life. Since most of my family is now in Texas it allows us to stay connected through the miles. I just wish that they posted a little bit more. I think that they feel like something big has to happen in order for them to make a post. But I love hearing about the little daily things too. I love having my adult time here in blogging world too. Being a stay at home mom I don't get too much but on here I feel I get just what I need.

Apostle Encourages Blogging

I thought that this was pretty cool.

Two hundred graduating students at Brigham Young University-Hawaii were urged today to use the Internet — including blogs and other forms of “new media” — to contribute to a national conversation about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Elder M. Russell Ballard, an apostle in the Church, told the mostly Mormon student body that conversations about the Church would take place whether or not Church members decided to participate in them.
“We cannot stand on the sidelines while others, including our critics, attempt to define what the Church teaches,” he said.
“While some conversations have audiences in the thousands or even millions, most are much, much smaller. But all conversations have an impact on those who participate in them. Perceptions of the Church are established one conversation at a time.”
Church leaders have publicly expressed concern that while much of the recent extensive news reporting on the Church has been balanced and accurate, some has been trivial, distorted or without context.
Elder Ballard said there were too many conversations going on about the Church for Church representatives to respond to each individually, and that Church leaders “can’t answer every question, satisfy every inquiry and respond to every inaccuracy that exists.”
He said students should consider sharing their views on blogs, responding to online news reports and using the “new media” in other ways.
But he cautioned against arguing with others about their beliefs. “There is no need to become defensive or belligerent,” he said.
